Garden design projects in Surrey

The gardens on this page were designed by Paul Studholme of The Plant Hunter, a plant-led garden designer based in East Horsley, Surrey. They range from the restoration of the two-acre Medicine Garden in Cobham to private planting schemes across Cobham, Weybridge, Westhumble and the Horsley villages, and a commercial living wall in Twickenham. Each project page shows the garden itself, the plants that made it, and where possible how it has matured since.

Who this is for: anyone weighing up a garden designer in Surrey who wants to judge finished gardens, a few seasons on, rather than drawings.

A drawing shows what a designer intends. A garden a few seasons on shows whether the planting was right. The projects here are presented that way: the situation the garden started from, the planting chosen for its conditions, and how it has settled since.
